Welcome to the Eddie Durham 4th Annual Musical Tribute and Centennial Event. Check here for the schedule of events.

This year, the Musical Tribute will feature New York's Michael Powers Frequency Band.

Michael Powers is without a doubt a true master of the blues guitar. The road to success has led him to performances and recordings with such icons as: Chuck Berry, Johnny Winters, Robert Cray and John Lee Hooker. Influenced by the greatest blues men in history, Michael Powers is one of them with his own unique sound, style and soulful talent.

Other performers will include, New York's Whitney Marchelle, San Marcos' “Dr. G” & The Mudcats, Austin's Stanley Smith and the Jazz Pharaohs with special guest Tony Campise, and San Antonio's Spot Barnett Trio.

Jazz history aficionado, Dave Oliphant (author of Texan Jazz and The Roots of Texas Music ), will talk about the enduring legacy of Eddie Durham and will co- MC the event with Eddie Durham's daughter, Marsha (Topsy) Durham.

The Sam Ash Music Company has had several specially crafted guitars made to commemorate Eddie Durham in this Centennial year. They have donated one of these guitars, worth more than $800, to this year's Eddie Durham Music Tribute. This guitar will be raffled off as part of the on-going fundraising towards the creation of a permanent Eddie Durham Museum here in San Marcos. Numerous other exciting raffle and silent auction items will also be available at the Musical Tribute.
